GHS Countdown - Are you Prepared for New Labeling Legislation?

The largest problem faced by the global chemical & pharmaceutical industry is the inconsistent classification of chemicals. A substance which is classed as toxic in one part of the world may not be considered toxic in another. This creates many challenges in the global supply chain.

The UN has issued a mandate to standardize both classification and communication: Globally Harmonized System (GHS). GHS aims to improve health and safety by ensuring consistent hazard communication on chemicals. It will also reduce the regulatory burden on manufacturers who currently struggle with many different systems of classification depending on the country.

The clock is ticking — the deadline for GHS substance reclassification in the EU is 1st December 2010 with further deadlines to follow.

Join us for ‘GHS Countdown – Are You Prepared for New Labeling Legislation?’ on Tuesday, September 28th. This 60-minute, information-packed session, gives an in-depth look into how to plan and implement GHS across your organization with minimal impact.
